Basic Usage of Shadowrocket

Step 1: Download and Install the App

• Open the App Store on your iOS device.
• Search for "Shadowrocket" and download the application. Note that this is a paid app.

Step 2: Add Proxy Configuration

There are several ways to add a proxy configuration:

• Scan QR Code: This is the most common and convenient method. If your proxy service provider offers a QR code, tap the QR code scan icon in the top-left corner of Shadowrocket's main screen and scan the code.

• Add Manually: Tap the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
  • Select the proxy type and fill in the necessary information such as Server Address, Port, Password, Encryption Method, etc., depending on the proxy protocol you are using.
  • Tap "Done" to save the configuration.

• Import from URL: If you have a proxy configuration subscription URL, tap the plus (+) icon, select "Subscribe" or "Add URL" and paste the URL.

Step 3: Enable Proxy Connection

• After adding the configuration, you will see a list of proxy servers.
• Select the server you want to use by tapping on it.
• Toggle the switch at the top of the screen to "Connected" (green) to enable the proxy connection.
• The first time you enable it, the system will ask for permission to add a VPN configuration. Please accept.

Step 4: Set Up Rules (Advanced Option)

• From the main screen, select the "Rules" tab.
• Here, you can customize how Shadowrocket handles traffic. Common rules include:
  • Proxy: All traffic will go through the proxy.
  • Direct: All traffic will go directly (not through the proxy).
  • Scene: Route based on specific scenarios.
  • Config: Use rules defined in the configuration.
• You can add custom rules based on domain names (Domain), IP ranges (IP Range), or GEOIP (geographical IP) to route traffic flexibly.

Step 5: Test Connection

• After enabling the proxy, open a web browser or app and check if your IP address has changed (you can search "what is my IP" on Google).
• Ensure that you can access content that was previously blocked.
